Are you a heritage speaker of one of the languages taught at UMBC (you have learned the language informally at home through family as opposed to formally in a school setting)? Do not proceed to bulleted information below. Rather, contact the coordinator for your language, communicating in your Heritage language, to inquire about placement in a higher level course.
